How to export your current untamed theme
Follow these simple steps to export your current untamed theme, then upload it to the upgrade tool above.
Navigate to Themes
Log into your Shopify admin and go to Online Store → Themes. You'll see your current live theme and any unpublished themes.
- •Look for your currently published theme (marked as "Current theme")
- •This is the theme you want to upgrade
Access Theme Actions
Next to your current theme, you'll see an Actions button or three dots (⋯). Click on it to open the actions menu.
- •The Actions button is usually located on the right side of the theme card
- •It may appear as "..." or "Actions" depending on your Shopify version
Export Your Theme
From the actions menu, click on "Download theme files". Shopify will prepare your theme export and send you an email with a download link.
- •You'll receive an email with the download link (usually within a few minutes)
- •Click the link in the email to download your theme ZIP file
- •The ZIP file will contain all your settings, content, and customizations
- •Upload this downloaded file in the upgrade tool above
